How to Install Ringtones
on iOS (Before iOS 26)

Follow these simple steps to set up your custom ringtones using GarageBand. This method works on all iOS versions before iOS 26.

iOS 26 Users

If you're running iOS 26 or later, you can skip these steps! Simply tap "Use as Ringtone" from the share menu in our app for instant setup.

Download GarageBand

First, make sure you have GarageBand installed on your iPhone

Open the App Store on your iPhone
Search for 'GarageBand'
Download and install the app (it's free from Apple)
Wait for installation to complete

Save Your Ringtone

Export your generated ringtone from Ringtone Generator

Open Ringtone Generator app
Find the ringtone you want to use
Tap the Download button
Choose 'Save to Files' or 'Share to GarageBand'

Import to GarageBand

Open your ringtone file in GarageBand

Open GarageBand on your iPhone
Tap the '+' to create a new project
Select 'Audio Recorder'
Tap the track view icon (looks like parallel lines)
Tap the loop icon and select 'Files'
Find and import your ringtone file

Trim Your Ringtone

Make sure your ringtone is the right length (30 seconds max)

Drag your audio file to the timeline
Use the scissors tool to trim if needed
Ringtones work best at 20-30 seconds
Make sure it loops well or has a natural ending

Export as Ringtone

Convert your project to a ringtone format

Tap the down arrow (top left)
Select 'My Songs'
Press and hold your project
Tap 'Share' from the menu
Select 'Ringtone'
Name your ringtone and tap 'Export'

Set as Ringtone

Choose how you want to use your new ringtone

After export, you'll see three options:
'Use sound as...' - tap this
Choose 'Standard Ringtone', 'Text Tone', or 'Assign to contact'
Your ringtone is now ready to use!

Troubleshooting Tips

Common Issues

Ringtone too long? Trim it to 30 seconds or less
Can't find GarageBand? Download it free from the App Store
File won't import? Make sure it's in a supported audio format
